support when I needed it the most

My first really personal memory of Mary Lou was at a time when she was very busy with her own young children yet hosted me and my dad Ernie the night before I left for my Junior Year abroad. It was my first time leaving home and I don't know who was more distraught - dad or me. Mary Lou and Chuck kindly opened their home to us and gave me a very welcome overnight respite before my departure out of Minneapolis to Seville, Spain. Dad and I were able to get it together a bit before he dropped me off at the airport the next morning. Mary Lou's encouragement and warmth in that trying time was so appreciated, and she has always been excited for and supportive of me and many others in travel-abroad experiences. Gracias, MariLu!
