Obituary for Mary "Mary Pat" Monson (Linsmayer)

Mary "Mary Pat" Monson (Linsmayer)
Mary Pat Monson (Linsmayer), of Chanhassen, passed away on Tuesday, September 18th. A loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, Mary Pat is survived by her husband, Steve; sons, Gunnar (Katie) and Mike; sister, Ruth (Denny); brothers, Peter (Lyn), James and Bill; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary Pat was kind, caring, and accepting of all. Her zest for life was endless, and included a love of traveling, golfing, hosting family and friends, concerts and nights out on the town. She also had a passion for shoes, shopping and decorating. Mary Pat enjoyed spending days in the sun around her pool at their home in Chanhassen, and at their condo in Scottsdale, AZ.

Mary Pat loved bringing people together. Her 24 year career as Special Events Director at Canterbury Park granted her the opportunity to build moments for others to come together to share in music, art, celebration and fun. As shared by CEO of Canterbury Park and family friend, Randy Sampson:

"When it came to our special events business, Mary Pat was Canterbury Park. She had a passion for the event business and for Canterbury Park. Through her creativity, leadership and hard work, we now have an Expo Center and a year around calendar full of special events. Mary Pat was always the go to person when there were difficult jobs that needed to be done or problems that needed to be solved. She was the type of person you want on your side when the going gets tough. You could always count on Mary Pat."

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, September 25th from 5-9PM, in the Triple Crown Room at Canterbury Park, 1100 Canterbury Road, Shakopee MN (Use parking lot A or B.) Memorials preferred to A Breath of Hope Lung Foundation,
MINNEAPOLIS MN 612 861 6088
