Obituary for John Louis Sullivan

John Louis Sullivan age 71 passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at Fairview Southdale Hospital. Throughout John's life he was a go-to fashion icon in the Twin Cities, selling men's suits to many local celebrities at Cedric's in the Galleria and Nordstrom in the Mall of America. He loved his family, gardening, movies, sports, and The Rolling Stones. Preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Louise Sullivan; siblings, James Sullivan, Daniel Sullivan, Beverly Stehr, Marlene Salverda, Maureen Sullivan, Timothy Sullivan and niece, Joy Salverda. Survived by daughters, Lea Sullivan, Sarah (Dax) Eckel; life partner, Emily Wyman; siblings, Don (Joann) Sullivan, Myron (Donna) Sullivan, Gary (Lisa Hartzell) Sullivan, Patrick (Cheryl) Sullivan, Ruth Finkelson; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Helena, 3204 East 43rd Street Minneapolis. Visitation Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Ave. So. Minneapolis and 1 hour prior to Mass at Church.Interment Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Mahtomedi, MN. In lieu of flowers, John would prefer donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
