Direct Cremation Options

Direct cremation is an option for those who wish to have cremation occur alone or in conjunction with services without the bodily remains present. This service includes but is not limited to: overhead expenses relative to our facilities such as professional licensing, legal and accounting fees, insurance, maintenance and utility expenses, taxes, equipment and inventory costs, record keeping, secretarial and administrative costs.

In addition, a licensed professional completes a safe and secure transfer of the remains from the place of death to our facility, completes the arrangement conference, secures the legal paperwork and necessary permits and authorizations, provides sanitary care for temporary secure storage of the deceased, proper identification, safe and secure delivery of the remains to the crematory, helps coordinate with clergy, newspaper notices, cemetery arrangements, memorial service and could also help with the flowers and other merchandise selections.

Minnesota law does not require you to purchase a casket for cremation. If you want to arrange a cremation, you can use a cremation container. A cremation container is a combustible, closed container that encases the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or corrugated cardboard and into which a dead human body is placed prior to insertion into a cremation chamber for cremation.
