Margaret C. Lew

Thursday, March 10, 2016

88, of Richfield, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday March 2, just weeks shy of St Patrick's Day & her 89th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Lew; parents, Clarence & Margaret Rogan; brothers Bill & Jack Rogan. Survived by her children, Margaret (John), Brian, Tim (Peggy), Kathleen & Lisa (Tom); grandchildren, Jacky, Riley & Cody.  Born in Racine, WI, Margaret raised her family in Milwaukee.  After Don's death in 1988, she relocated to Richfield and began volunteering at St. Richard's School- receiving the Spirit of Blessed Trinity Award in 2010.  Margaret was an avid gardener, an expert seamstress, a gifted baker, a disciplined walker... in All Ways organized & Always resolute!  Her Irish heritage was a great source of pride. In 1978, in preparation for a hitchhiking adventure across Ireland with her youngest daughter, she began a regimen of walking. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow ever prevented her from completing her 5 mile daily route.  Full of surprises (taking flying lessons in her 70's!) Margaret is remembered as always gracious and in all ways giving.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, March 10 at 11am at St. Richard's Catholic Church, 7540 Penn Ave S, Richfield.  Visitation one hour prior to mass at the church.

Dennis was a retired nurse, spending the majority of his time with people who had mental illness. Like many health care givers, his compassionate and patient nature was a gift to those he helped. He truly believed he made a difference for them. His love of the outdoors – fishing, hunting was shared with many in his family and passed onto his boys. Dennis and Joan had 30 years together living life – sports, trips and family time, and most of all he enjoyed having fun. He will be truly missed by his best friend. The family would like to thank the doctors and staffs at MN Oncology and Fairview Southdale hospital for the care and love shown to Dennis and his family during his  illness.
