Houg, Virginia Magdelene, (Yohn) (Pfromer)
Our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Lord on October 1st, 2019 of natural causes at the age of 95 surrounded by loving family members. She will be dearly missed by all. Her love and caring for her family were endless.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eula Pfromer, husbands, William Yohn and Leon Houg; son, Daniel Yohn; son-in-law, Greg Ziemkowski and great-granddaughter, Hailee LaMeyer.
She is survived by brothers, Robert Pfromer (Marlene), Thomas Pfromer and Douglas Pfromer; children, Cheryl Ziemkowski-LaGuire (Mike), Bonnie Reeves (Paul), Garry Yohn (Dee), Joseph Yohn (Kim), Jeffrey Yohn (Kris), Donald Sullivan (Anne), Gregory Yohn (Laurie) and Kevin Yohn; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Virginia was a graduate of Minneapolis Roosevelt High School, a proud member of what has been called the greatest generation. Along with both Bill and Leon, she was a lifetime member of Fred Babcock VFW Post #5555 and a former auxiliary president. Bill and Virginia moved to Bloomington in 1958 where her heart and kitchen were always open for family and friends. After Bills passing in 1974 and marriage to Leon, they retired to the family cabin on Round Lake. Her enjoyment in the retired years was casual traveling with Leon, gardening, hosting family and friends on weekends, enjoying morning coffee on her bench overlooking the lake and listening to the loons sings their songs. She enjoyed bowling, golf and walks with her dogs and Leon while she was able. She volunteered with the luncheon ladies at Holy Family Church which she attended every Sunday.
Thanks to the staff at Auburn Manor, New Perspectives and Mt. Olivet Hospice for their care and support.
