Mylan, Virgil James, age 97, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2019. surrounded by his family members. Virgil was born November 20, 1921 to Virgil Marcellus and Ann (Daust) Mylan in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota. The family moved several times over the next few years before settling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Virgil and June (Engen) Mylan were married on August 26, 1946, and enjoyed a life together for 63 years until June’s death on August 22, 2010. Virgil served in the US Army during WWII. He owned and operated a printing company for 50 years. He held both a private and commercial pilot’s license, and enjoyed flying the airplanes he owned for many years. His passions were trap and skeet, upland game, handball, and coaching youth baseball. Virgil is survived by his children: Thomas (Lorraine Owings) Mylan, Virgil (Jo) Mylan, Michael Mylan, Clancy (Cathy) Mylan, and Marci (Michael Wilson) Mylan; and grandsons Mark Mylan and Jesse Flury.
