Steven Scherer, 78, of Bloomington, MN passed on March 16, 2023 following a journey of heart and lung complications. Steve was born to Ray and Margaret (Duitsman) Scherer on March 9, 1945. He graduated from Faribault Senior High School in 1963, served in the US Navy from 1965 1968 and later graduated with an A.A. degree from Normandale Community College. Steve retired from Qwest (Century Link); he also served as an officer and steward in CWA 7200 where two of his pride projects were Union leadership to annual United Way Campaigns as well as to the U of MN Transplant Assistance Fund. Steve enjoyed time with family, friends, the beauty and quiet of nature, fishing, hunting, French Lake, pride as a Veteran, union work, being a long-time friend of Bill W.’s, and the family cat, Franklin.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Margaret. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynne; son, Eric; twin sister, Shiela (Jim) Eck; brother-in-law Kevin (Jackie) Wille, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 15 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest United Methodist Church-9100 Russell Ave. So. Bloomington, MN 55431. Visitation 1 hour prior to service.
