Obituary

On October 1, 2019 surrounded by family, Stephanie peacefully left this world after a decades long battle with liver disease. Whatever new complication was added to a growing list, she remained always determined and optimistic.

She was a devoted partner and mother and a loyal sister and a friend, with a generous spirit to all.

Stephanie will join her father Roger Grande, mother Shirley Grande and sister Cindy (Grande) Uhr in watching over the family left behind.

She is survived by her devoted partner of 43 years, Lorraine Kretchman; their beloved son Joey Kretchman-Grande and his wife Claire; brother Lance Grande and his wife Dianne; sister Patrice Anderson and her husband Ken; sister Robin Grande; and nieces Andrea, Anna, Jessica, Angela, Lauren and Elizabeth.

Steph retired 3 years ago and discovered a newfound joy in creativity and expression through drawing. She was very excited to be featured artist on exhibit at the Hopkins Center for the Arts through Oct 13th (2nd floor, east wall).

In memory of Stephanie, please consider checking the organ donor box on your next license renewal. Memorials are preferred to Hopkins Center for the Arts.

Memorial gathering will be Sunday October 6th from 3-6 PM at Gill Brothers Funeral Chapel, 9947 Lyndale Ave S, Bloomington, with a time of sharing beginning at 5:30 PM.

Stephanie was one of the best parent helpers we had for the Orono Speech Team. Stephanie (and Lorraine) would help chaperone the buses and judge at almost every tournament. They were both so proud of their son Joey who competed on the team and in his senior year, was the team captain. We coaches loved having Stephanie and Lorraine offer their support for the team! Parents like this will never be forgotten!
