Obituary for Sharon Kay Cook

Cook, Sharon Kay (Braun / McMenamy) Cook was born on Dec. 30, 1941, in Rochester, MN. She passed away peacefully on Oct. 3, 2022, at her home in Bloomington, MN surrounded by her family.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Aloysious & Pearl Braun; her loving husband of 31 years, Gene Cook; brother, Mike Braun; brother-in-law, Lewis Schoppers and nephew, Todd Schoppers.

Survived by her 5 children, Carol (Chris) McMenamy, Mary McMenamy, Kevin (Lisa May) McMenamy, Nanci (Mark) Desjardin and Lisa (Tony) Klaers. Survived by 5 grandchildren, Sam, Cassie, Kayla, Daniel, and Madeleine and one great grandson Magnus. Sharon is also survived by siblings, Carol Braun, Ginny (Dave) Bigelow, Kathy Schoppers, Rick (Becky) Braun and Ann (Jeff) Gunderson.

There will be a viewing at Gill Brothers Funeral Home,9947 Lyndale Ave. So. Bloomington, MN on Friday Oct 7th from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm. The family also invites you to join us for a celebration of life on Saturday Oct 8th at 11:00 am (with a brief viewing at 10 am) at the Nativity of Mary Church 9900 LYNDALE Ave. So. in Bloomington we ask that you wear bright colors to help us celebrate as we all know how much those bright colors will make Sharon smile!
