Obituary for Sandra Lynn "Sandy" Joyce
Sandra Lynn Joyce (Nelson), age 67, of Eagan, MN on August 30, 2023. Beloved wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, friend. Survived by husband of 42 years, Steve Joyce, daughter Kristine Lamoureux (Ryan), son Matthew Joyce (fiancé Rachel), sisters Cathy Horry (Bill) and Sharon Kielty, grandchildren Nolan, Abby, Ashton, Adalyn, Kora, Kaden, and many special relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Lucille Nelson and Delano Nelson, and in-laws Richard and Marcelline Joyce.
Sandy grew up in Bloomington, MN graduated from Kennedy High school (class of '73). She worked many jobs including Studio97, Allstate Peterbilt, and Burroughs before moving to Eagan and becoming a top-producing Realtor at Coldwell Banker Burnet for 33 years.
Sandy will be remembered for her love of spending time at the family cabin ("we're on the water!"), hosting Christmas Eve, vacationing in Cayman, and making strawberry jam (“Sand-Jam”), rice crispy treats, donuts, and Jell-O with the grandkids. Sandy was a kind, fun loving, strong woman and she would always smile at you to get one back. She was a very charitable and giving person, always putting other people first. The last five years forced Sandy to slow down. She fought a courageous battle, never telling her mother or grandkids, and passed peacefully in her sleep in her husband's arms at her favorite place. She will be dearly missed but her wonderful memories will always live on. Funeral service September 16. 2023 at Gill Brothers Bloomington (9947 Lyndale Avenue South) with visitation 2:30-4:00 pm, service at 4:00 pm. A celebration of life afterwards at Bloomington Events Center/Knights of Columbus (1114 American Blvd. W. Bloomington, MN) from 5-8 p.m.
