Donahoe, Ruth Anne age 95 of Edina, MN passed away on May 21, 2022 with family at her side. An avid sports fan who will be missed by many. Ruth was known as Aunt Sis by her nieces and nephews because her brothers affectionately called her Sister. She was born and raised in Mt. It was in highschool Ruth formed lifetime friendships with 7 endearing women who became known as the "salad girls". Pat Moberg, from this group remained her dearest friend. Ruth graduated from St. Catherine University in 1948, with a dream to become a sportswriter. She came pretty close, working as an Executive Secretary for the publisher of the Star and Tribune for most of her working career. Ruth followed all sports, especially listening to the Twins games on the radio with Danny Gladden announcing. Ruth possessed a quick wit and informed intellect, although it was always the Sports pages she read first. Ruth enjoyed gardening, playing bridge with the "salad girls" and keeping in touch with her family. She valued the stories she would hear from family spread across the country. Ruth lived at Vernon Terrace in Edina, working part time at the front desk for many years. She cherished the staff, neighbors and good friends.
