Obituary for Robert Alan Leonardson
ROBERT ALAN LEONARDSON – Bob Leonardson, 73, died September 18, 2023 at North Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 24, 1949 in Minneapolis MN, the son of Kenneth Robert and Betty Helen (Wolfgram) Leonardson.
Bob graduated from Richfield High School in 1967 and went to the U of MN and later graduated from Mankato State with a business degree. Bob met Mary (Carlblom) while in Mankato. They married in 1972 and settled in Crystal, MN where they had 3 daughters. Bob spent most of his career as a controller at Minnesota Industrial Tools, Inc. Bob loved fishing with his buddies and many trips to the Canadian wilderness. In his younger years he enjoyed golfing. Bob loved riding motorcycles since he was 15 years old and was especially fond of his Harleys. He adored his golden retrievers Maggie and Libby.
Preceded in death by parents, Kenneth and Betty; father-in-law, Elmer Carlblom; mother-in-law, Leona (Larsen) Carlblom; brother-in- law Dan Carlblom; niece Meghan (Carlblom) Blomquist, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Surviving in addition to his wife, daughters Michelle (Leonardson) Berkness and son Max, Nicole Leonardson, and Natalie (Leonardson) Krogseng and husband Matt. Brother-in-law Tim Carlblom (Cathy), sister-in-law Sue (Storey) Carlblom, nieces Stacy (Carlblom) Coronis and husband Andy, Diane (Carlblom) Arenholtz and husband Jay, Chris Carlblom and partner Mark Chamley. Nephew-in-law Jeff Blomquist. Liberty (dog).
A celebration of life will be held at House of Hope Lutheran Church, 4800 Boone Avenue North, New Hope, MN on Monday, September 25th, 2023 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment following reception at Lakewood Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Bob in a special way may make donations to the Disabled American Veterans - dav.org or the Animal Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
