Robert Gilbertson passed away unexpectedly at the age of 73 on 1/29/2023 with his devoted wife by his side. Bob was born on 12/08/1949 in Minneapolis, MN. He was the oldest son of Robert and Patricia (Rodier) Gilbertson. Bob is survived by his wife Susan Gilbertson and his three children, Lisa Gilbertson of Farmington, MN, and Michelle (Matt) Debol of Jordan, MN and Patricia Gilbertson of Bloomington, MN, 5 grandchildren, and 4 sisters and 2 brothers, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Mary Johnson.
Bob worked in the casino business in his later years and moved to Denison, Texas in 2015 to further his career. He retired in 2017 to enjoy life and the pool.
Bob had a huge sense of humor that lit up a room and was loved by all who knew him. He will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure to know and be loved by him. Bob loved to golf and the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. In his younger years he loved to play softball, and he did so every chance he could. He was the happiest when he was surrounded by family.
Memorial Service Friday February 10, 2023 5:00 PM at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave. So. Interment at FT. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation Friday 3-6 PM. Memorials preferred to Donor’s choice.
