Obituary for Richard Warren Perry

Richard Warren Perry, 74, passed away peacefully at his Minneapolis home, surrounded by family, on September 30th, after a 10 month battle with cancer. Richard was born August 21st, 1946 in Minneapolis. His passion for playing the guitar and making music connected him to many people and places. He played in groups, solo and with his family. After years of being a salesman, painter, tile-setter and handy guy, he became a massage therapist at 46 and dedicated 25 years to healing and helping others through body work, and continued volunteering at CVT after retiring. He was a spiritual man, whose kindness and generosity was unfailing. He enjoyed playing golf and was a dedicated Twins and Vikings fan. To his family, he was a loving and devoted husband and father who encouraged faith in oneself and the goodness of others . His love of song, generous heart, quick wit and easy laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Warren and Harriet (Mott) Perry. He is survived by his dear wife, Erika (Mueller) Perry; loving children, Emily A. Perry (Andrea Dickinson), Richard “Max” Perry (Lisa Lawrence), AnnieRose Perry (Shane Detwiler); beloved grandchildren, Hazel and Evelyn and treasured sister, Martha (Perry) Mauck (Fred).

An intimate memorial service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery Chapel on Saturday October 10th, 2020, at 10:00am,(by invitation). Visitation at 9:30am. A celebration of his life will be announced, next year.
