Ralph Paul Remer was born on October 20, 1923 in Winsted, Mn to Frank and Katherine (Lachermeier) Remer. He was the 10th of 12 children. He attended school at Holy Trinity in Winsted, Mn through grade 8. On May 16, 1945 he married Sylvia Mathilda Trittabaugh of New Germany, Mn. This marriage was blessed with 8 children, Dan, Sue, Kevin, Pam, Barb, Jeff, Becky and Rhonda, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren with more on the way. They resided in Minneapolis until 1957, when they moved to Bloomington where they lived for the next 62 years. Ralph enjoyed riding horse, fishing, gardening, canning, working on cars, traveling, camping, talking about his heritage, visiting, singing, dancing, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ralph worked at various farms and Green Giant until he began his career at Hoerner Waldorf Paper Company in St. Paul, Mn. He retired after 40 years at age 62. Ralph passed away peacefully in his favorite chair on Monday, October 7 at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 18 days. Ralph was preceded in death by son, Kevin and granddaughter, Kelly. Survived by his wife of 74 years, Sylvia (Trittabaugh) Remer; children, Daniel (Judy), Susan (Earl) Gidley, Pamela (Richard) Fairclough, Barbara, Jeffrey (Ronelle), Rebecca (John) Baruth and Rhonda; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many other loving relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2019 at the Church of the Nativity of Mary, 9900 Lyndale Avenue South, Bloomington with visitation beginning at 9:00. Interment Dawn Valley Memorial Park, Bloomington. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice.
