Obituary for Philip Dean "Phil" Jacobson

Jacobson, Philip D.

Age 78 of Richfield, took his final breath February 15, 2021, surrounded
by family.

Preceded in death by parents, Verner and Mavis (Anderson) Jacobson;
brother, Alex (age 2); and former wife, Susan O’Boyle.

Phil’s final three days were sweet and amazing, under home hospice care
tenderly provided by his entire family of 8 humans and grand-dog, Lupe.

Survived by wife, Janet Blomberg; son, Drake (Sheila); grandchildren, Aidan,
Stella and Oliver Jacobson; son, Tyler (Julie); and Julie’s son, Gabriel;
sister, Kathy (Barry Lovell); brothers, Scott (Mary), Marshall (Diane),
Jere (Patti); sister, Holly (Roger Regnier); and many nieces and nephews.

Born in Willmar, Phil spent his first nine years on a farm near
Kerkhoven, subsequent years in the Twin Cities. Graduating with a
Business Degree from University of Minnesota in 1965, Phil’s first
accounting job was with Target at its beginning, with fewer than five
stores. Later Dayton Hudson Jewelers, and Universal Cooperatives.

Phil was a kind and gentle man, mourned by all who knew him. His
character and integrity the pride of his family. For the past twelve
years Phil’s heart of a servant was on full display at Gramercy Park
Cooperative at Lake Shore Drive.

Private burial. A Memorial Service will be held at a future date due to
Covid-19.
