Obituary for Patrick Todd Powell
Patrick Todd Powell, son of Harry Powell and Dorothy Black was born in Peoria, IL, on June 30, 1958.
He attended school in Washington, IL, and graduated with the class of 1977. He enjoyed playing chess as the captain of the club, debate, and speech teams. He was also very physically active as a football player, the state discus champion, and the state middleweight boxing champion.
He attended college at St. Ambrose in Des Moines, IA, until he was a junior and majored in political science. He also was in the Air Force, and when he got out he worked in the service industry.
He had a traveling bug and constantly traveled to new and different places. He met Peggy Buchanan, and they settled down in Peoria Heights, IL. Patrick eventually ended up in a wheelchair, and after traveling extensively, he came to live in Minnesota.
Patrick passed away at 11:36 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022, of sepsis at Methodist Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Kenneth Black; his mother, Dorothy Black; his brother, Michael Powell; and his brother, Larry Barder. He is survived by his sister, Dawn Feinstein, and his partner, Peggy Buchanan.
