Hansen, Patricia Jean (Salisbury)
08/28/1937 thru 09/19/2019. Pat's life focused on family, with her husband, Dick (60 years of marriage) at the center, and children, Kari (Mary), Kris (deceased) and Sara, and grandkids, Jacob, Grace, Hannah, Cailey, Mason and Valin around her. She is also survived by sisters, Diane, Kathy, and Kim and beloved nieces and nephews, many from Dick’s side of the family, and by the Xiongs – Sheng, Maino, Leng and Keng – whom she took under her wings for many years. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Jean and Dick Salisbury and Dick’s parents, Bernice and Emil Hansen.
Pat was a woman of many friends from every part of her life: a proud graduate of Washburn High School (1955), the University of Minnesota College of Education (1959), and a masters degree in special education from the University of St Thomas. She was active in Alpha Delta Pi sorority, Nicollet Tennis (she played competitive tennis), Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Learning Disabilities Assn, Minneapolis Public Schools – first in elementary education and later in Adult Ed, Green Valley, AZ and more. She made things happen for those around her, especially her children. Pat's dry sense of humor and utter determination will be remembered and missed. Pat is glad she enjoyed family and friends and extensive international travel before post-polio syndrome and Lewy Body Dementia limited her ability to enjoy and experience life. Memorial service Tuesday, September 24, 2019, 11 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis. Visitation Monday, September 23, 2019, 6:30 - 8 pm at Gill Brothers Southwest Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis and also Tuesday 9:30 - 11 am. Reception to follow service. Memorials may be directed to Starfish Ministries - Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Donor's choice.
