Obituary for Nancy Ann Zimmel
Nancy Ann Zimmel, age 75, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2022. Nancy was born on September 18, 1947 to Rueben and Florence Emard in Bowerville, Minnesota. Nancy would go on to marry the love of her life, Romuald Zimmel, and have three children: Janet, Roger, and Brian.
Nancy’s biggest joy in her life was her family. She took great pride in being involved in her children’s life when they were growing up including being a cub scout leader for her sons. Her granddaughter Abby was the light of her life. She loved nothing more than spending time with her. Nancy was very involved in her church at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. She was involved in their alter and rosery guild. In Nancy’s free time she loved to play different games. Her favorites included bingo, in which she always won, bowling, puzzles, and word searches. Nancy also never missed an episode of her favorite show, Days of our Lives.
Nancy will forever remain in the hearts of her beloved children Janet (Jeffry) Clausing, Roger (Celeste) Zimmel, and Brian Zimmel; her granddaughter Abby Zimmel; as well as her aunt Florence Carlson. She is preceded in death by her husband Romuald Zimmel; parents Rueben Emard and Florence Thompson (Carlson); aunts and uncles Ann and Harold Kohanek, Harry Carlson, and grandparents Oscar and Emma Carlson.
A service to honor and celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
