Obituary for Marybeth Solberg Stull (Solberg)

Age 78, of Minnetonka, passed away with family by her side on January 4, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Ward and Maxine (nee Klontz) Solberg. She is survived by her husband, Curtis; children, Mark (Jodie) McCoy, Jason (Lisa) Stull, Robert McCoy, and Amy (Tony) Reichenberger; grandchildren, Andy and Dana McCoy and Oscar Reichenberger; siblings, Ward A. (Mary K) Solberg, Susan Solberg, Carol Solberg Moss; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Marybeth's faith, family, and friends were always dear to her. One of her greatest joys in life was music and playing the violin. She played professionally throughout the years as a soloist, in quartets, and many Twin Cities-area orchestras. She was a cum laude graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Violin Performance. She also studied violin performance at the graduate level at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, where she gained many lifelong friendships. Throughout her professional career, she served in many administrative roles, including administrative positions with the Minnesota and St. Paul Chamber Orchestras and most recently as a sales and marketing assistant for Wells Fargo Institutional Trust. She also served as an interim instructor of Hardanger fiddle at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota and was proud of her Norwegian heritage. She studied the Norwegian language as well as the Hardanger fiddle for many years. A celebration of life service with an abundance of music will take place at a later date when it is safe to gather in large groups. Memorials are preferred to Richfield United Methodist Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota, directed to the Music Fund or church ministries.
