Obituary for Mary Kathryn Luther (Frey)
Mary K. Luther (nee Frey) age 80 formerly of Richfield passed peacefully on June 11, 2023. She was the daughter of Raymond and Kathryn Frey. Also preceded in death by husband, Martin “Ernie” Luther. Survived by sisters, Mollie (Hugh) Sherry, Margaret (Joe) Bianconi, Donna Frey; nieces and nephews, Joe (Leann Langanki) Sherry, Michelle Goldberger, Rich (Tammy Aldrich) Sherry, Joseph R. (Laurie) Bianconi, David (Rebecca) Bianconi; many grand nieces and nephews; step-son, Steven Luther; best friend, LuAnn Jutting.
After graduating from the Academy of Holy Angels and Medical Assistance college in San Diego CA, Mary worked for over 33 years as a supervisor of the Front Desk and Business Office at Southwest Clinic in Edina, and then at Southdale Internal Medicine. Even after retirement, she continued as a volunteer for Fairview Southdale Hospital. Mary was devoted to her Catholic faith and family. She loved to travel and ski and met her husband Ernie on a winter ski trip. They married in 1979 and enjoyed 37 happy years together. Their backyard literally overflowed with flowers every year and they both loved listening to hours of music. Mary also sang in the Church of St. Richard’s Choir in Richfield for over 50 years.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday June 27, 2023 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Edward, 9401 Nesbitt Avenue. Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at Church only. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Sharing and Caring Hands, 525 N 7th St., Minneapolis, MN 55405
