Obituary for Mary Jo Gansmoe
Mary Jo “Jo-Jo” Gansmoe of Minneapolis, MN, passed away July 7, 2023 at the age of 75. Preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite Gansmoe and father, John Gansmoe. Survived by brothers, Patrick, G. Peter III and Michael (Suh); Cousins, Steve (Pamela) Savoie, Lisa Savoie-Sorenson, Beth, and Molly (Jim) Sikorski; nieces and nephews, Molly (Andy) Gehrke, Andy (Courtney), Natalie, Zachary and Lucas; grandnephews, Emery, Torin and grandniece, Luella.
Mary Jo was a devoted Christian and member of Sojourn Campus Church. She held multiple degrees from Normandale College, Southwest Minnesota State University and the University of St. Cloud. Mary Jo consistently appeared on the Dean’s list for academic achievement.
Mary Jo was once a spokesperson for United Cerebral Palsy of Minnesota and a lifelong member of the Minnesota State Services for the Blind. Mary Jo’s constant light, joy, kind and loving nature will be dearly missed by her family, neighbors and friends.
Celebration of Life at Sojourn Campus Church, 310 - 18th Ave. SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414 on Saturday, August 5th at 11am. Private family interment service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice in Mary Jo’s memory.
