Mark Allen Polson, 70, of Lake City, FL, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, FL, following a brief illness.
He was born March 20, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska to the late John H. Polson and Elaine Russell Polson. After graduating from Bloomington Kennedy High School, Mr. Polson joined the United States Army where he served his country during the Vietnam War. He loved sports (football, baseball, and cross country), comedy, music, and history; but most of all, he loved being a husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Polson lived in Lake City, FL for the past 23 years. He is preceded in death by his father and grandson, Antony Steele.
Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Rita R. Polson, of Lake City, FL; mother, Elaine Polson of Bloomington, MN; son, Jack (Sonda) Polson of Farmington, MN; daughter, Robin (Robert) Ferguson of Bloomington, MN; stepdaughters, Laurie (Scot) Schindler of Shakopee, MN and Danielle Buxbaum of Montgomery, MN; brothers, David (Doris) Polson, John (Darcee) Polson, Steven (Becky) Polson, Christopher (Sue) Polson, Richard (Laura) Polson, and Joseph Polson; grandchildren, Kaylin, Rita, Aaron, Cole, Bobby, Riley, Ashtin, Jayla, Madelyn, and Skylar; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Gill Brothers Funeral Home 9947 Lyndale Ave South, Bloomington, MN, 55420. Visitation 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 and one hour prior to service all at Gill Brothers Funeral Home. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
