Marcia K. Peterson, 75, of Minneapolis, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019, at The Emeralds of St. Paul Care Center.
She was born on March 25, 1944, to Marjorie (Klopp) and LeRoy “Bud” Eiden in Sherburn, MN.
Marcia was a 1962 graduate of Sherburn High School. Upon graduation, she started working at N.S.P. in Minneapolis. This is where she met her future husband. On December 6, 1969, she was married to John Peterson at St. Luke’s Catholic Church. To this union, their daughter Christina was born.
Marcia enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, collecting Betty Boop and Coca Cola memorabilia, her time spent at Canterbury Downs, playing 500, eating prime rib and drinking Coke. She was well known for filling birthday cards with confetti which became a long-standing family joke. Most of all she valued her time with her daughter Chris, grandson Tristan and other family and friends.
Marcia is survived by her daughter Christina Peterson of Minneapolis, grandson Tristan Booth of Bloomington, her sisters Beverly (Dan) Chicos of West Concord, Julie (Mark) Frahm of Mankato, Jayne (Chris) Kellam of Welcome and brother Tom (Mary Survis) Eiden of Fairmont, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents Marjorie and LeRoy, long-time partner Bernie Sampson, and special high school friend Marlene (Swanson) Mielke.
The funeral mass will be held at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn on July 16, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
