Obituary for LeRoy Anthony Jacobs
Jacobs, LeRoy A, 88, of Minneapolis, MN passed away on September 14, 2019 from complications due to Alzheimer’s disease.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 12th at 1pm at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Ave South, Minneapolis with a visitation beginning at noon with a reception immediately following the service.
LeRoy was born in Chicago, IL to Walter and Estelle Jacobs on December 15, 1930. He went to Grinnell College where he met his wife, Josephine. He was a veteran of the US Navy Reserves and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and Lions Club.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Estelle Jacobs, Brother Robert Jacobs and Sister, Genevieve (Jacobs) Andres.
LeRoy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josephine (Pondelicek) Jacobs , children LeRoy A Jacobs Jr and wife Robin of Centreville, VA, Patricia (Jacobs) Morena and Husband John of Nashville, TN and James Jacobs and wife Sarah of Minneapolis. LeRoy was proud to have been blessed with 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
