Obituary for Keith Alan Calvin

Keith Alan Calvin, 75, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on February 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He courageously fought an 18 month battle with SC lung cancer.

Keith was born on August 30th, 1947 to Bob and Loraine Calvin in Worthington, MN. Keith grew up farming with his parents and siblings. After Keith graduated from Worthington High School, where he was a baseball pitching standout, he went on to serve two tours as part of U.S. Army in Vietnam 1967-1970.

Keith served one combat tour and another as bar manager on base. After his discharge from military service, Keith moved to Minneapolis where he drove semi and other jobs until he met Glenda, the love of his life. He married Glenda M Grassman August 11, 1973 in Marshfield WI at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They had two sons Corey Alan and Chad Weber. They enjoyed camping, boating and time spend with extended family.

Keith took a position with the U.S. Postal service where he worked in marketing and managed several stations in his 35 year career.

In 2005 Keith retired from post office and enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, and especially loved spending time at his cabin on Lake Hattie in northern Mn.

Keith was predeceased by his parents Bob and Loraine. Keith is survived by his loving wife, Glenda and sons Corey (wife Lorelei) and Chad (wife Jessica). Keith is leaving behind his grandchildren whom he loved a great deal including Jade, Payton, Gordon, Kennedy, Annabelle and Cole. Keith is survived by his siblings Valerie Habicht, Scott Calvin and Michelle Krautbauer (Missy) as well as a number of cousins (Heles, Petersons) with whom he was very close over the years.

Services will be held at Gill Brothers Funeral home on March 3. Visitation 10AM Service 11AM. Military honors and burial to follow at Fort Snelling.

The family would like to especially thank "Pat" Keith's home hospice care nurse whose gentle caring nature gave comfort to Keith.
