Obituary for Josephine A. Jacobs (Pondelicek)
Josephine A Jacobs of Minneapolis, MN passed away on November 17, 2019 from complications due to Lung Cancer.
A Memorial Service and Mass followed by a lunch will be held Monday, December 9, 2019 at St. Helena Church, 3204 East 43rd Street, Minneapolis, MN. Visitation will be 9-10am, mass from 10-11am with a reception immediately following the service.
Jo was born in Chicago, IL to James Pondelicek and Agnes (Petrzilka) Pondelicek on September 30, 1935. She went to Grinnell College where she met her husband, LeRoy. She was a grade school and middle school teacher of 49 years in South Bend, IN, Chicago Metro area, Omaha, NE and St Catherine School in Milwaukee, WI.
Josephine’s husband of 64 years, LeRoy A. Jacobs passed away on September 14, 2019 from complications due to Alzheimer’s disease.
Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, James and Agnes Pondelicek; and brothers James, Edward, Joseph and Robert.
Josephine (Pondelicek) Jacobs is survived by her children, LeRoy A. Jacobs Jr and wife, Robin of Centreville, VA, Patricia (Jacobs) Morena and husband John of Nashville, TN and James Jacobs and wife Sarah of Minneapolis. Josephine was proud to have been blessed with 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Nancy Loyd of Grace Hospice, Dr. Bryan Trottier MD of the Park Nicollet Frauenshuh Cancer Center, Nokomis Health Seniors, and Virginia Tschilda of St Helena Catholic Church for their professional care and sincere heartfelt support.
