John Robert Wentzell, Jack to his family, Johnny to friends, left this world unexpectedly and much too soon, September 18, 2022. Born in Minneapolis, November 22, 1991. Johnny graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 2010 where he was active in drama and voted senior prom king. He was proudly employed as a Technical Product Analyst at SPS Commerce, downtown Minneapolis and joyfully a part-time beer tender at LynLake Brewery, Uptown Minneapolis. Johnny will be greatly missed by his mother Kathleen Stratton, father John P. Wentzell, stepmother Lori, sisters Margaret Maloney and Gillian Parle, nephews Carter and Ryan and stepsisters Sarah and Anne. Johnny lived life to the fullest with his travels, passion for political and social issues, and efforts to attend musical concerts at all venues in the Twin Cities. Johnny had many wonderful friends who will carry on his love of life and memories of their dear friend. Johnny died in his sleep early Sunday morning. He had not answered his sister or friend's communication since Saturday morning so they went to check on Johnny early Sunday afternoon. They were fortunate to find another building resident who is a Physician's Assistant who went into the bedroom and found Johnny. There was no sign of trauma but there were signs that Johnny may have been confused. An autopsy was done with no definitive results. The medical examiner is waiting on lab results that could take weeks. We will stay in contact with the very helpful people at the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office while they work to finalize the report.
