Jeffrey Peter Nye was born in Faribault, MN on October 7th, 1950, and passed away by natural causes on April 7th, 2023. He is preceded by his parents, Earl and Donna Nye. Jeff is survived by his siblings Deborah, Roxanne, Daniel, Charles and David, his children Jonathon and Christopher, and grandchildren Audrey, Oliver, Charlotte and Lucas. He is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews, of whom he enjoyed their embrace and learning about their lives. A graduate of Edina High School and the University of St. Thomas, Jeff was very proud of his professional contributions as a psychologist, and continued to work part time as a caretaker and companion in assisted living facilities during retirement. He was committed to the academic success and personal enrichment of his sons through his volunteering as coach, liaison and community member during their adolescent years. Jeff cared deeply about environmental stewardship and social justice, of which he contributed to their causes and practiced these virtues in his daily life. He was an avid runner and passionate about listening to and practicing music with his guitar. More than all else, Jeff loved to socialize, learn and gather in celebration with his children, siblings and their families. These moments were his most cherished memories. There will be a gathering in remembrance on Saturday 4/15/2023 from 1-4 pm at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Avenue South.
