James Joseph Dean
Age 88 of Edina, died peacefully on February 5th, 2020. Born October 28th, 1931 in Huron, South Dakota to George A. and Josephine E. (Linhoff) Dean. Preceded in death by parents; 2 brothers and 1 sister. Survived by wife of 60 years, Rosemary; sons, Timothy (Jean), Paul, Daniel (Nina), and Peter; grandchildren, Timothy Jr. (Cecelia), Christine (Donald) Walter, Tommy, and Ryland; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, George (Mary Ann). Graduate of Washburn HS and the U of M. US Army veteran and Prudential Insurance agent for 38 years. After retirement one of his favorite pastimes was spending time at the family lake cabin near Ely. Family gatherings were the highlight of his life. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, 9:30 AM at the Church of St. Patrick, 6820 St. Patrick's Lane, Edina, MN 55439. Visitation Sunday, 4-6 pm at Gill Brothers Southwest Funeral Chapel, 5801 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55419 and also one half hour prior to mass at church. Interment Tuesday 10:45 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be directed to the Church of St. Patrick or donor's choice.
