Obituary for Eric Andrew Sherden

Eric Sherden, last grand gesture on May 17, 2020, was one that encapsulated the way he lived, with his beautiful wife Loni “Faith” Sherden hand in his, and family on his mind. Eric passed away after a hard-fought battle with cancer. From the day he was diagnosed to the day he died, Eric fought diligently, with a smile to survive for his family. He lived simply as a 6"7 gentle giant, with a bright smile, a heart of gold, and love for his family and God. He was born the youngest of three on 06/15/1984 to Willie James Sherden and Diane Marie King in Chicago, IL. Eric was raised in the church from a young age, which led to his love for God. He also had a passion for cars, which led to him having a long career in the car industry. He is survived by his wife Loni “Faith” Sherden and his two sons, Gabriel And Immanuel. His kids were everything to him and were treated as such. He always went out of his way to show them compassion and humor. He was so dedicated to them learning this, that one day a storm was raging outside and led to the power going out. He was asked by his older son why the power went out. Eric being the man he was, looked down and replied with a smile, "someone in nature didn't pay the light bill." It was moments like this that allowed Eric to be the gentle giant he was. Anyone who knew Eric knows his two favorite hobbies where playing videos and talking about cars. Mention any two of the subjects, and the concept of time would elapse. He was a gear head to his core, he was such a gear head it was his core belief that it is better to get a ticket for speeding then get one driving too slow like he once did. If you brought this up to him, he would smile and shake his head. Eric may not be here with us in physical form; he will always be in our minds and hearts.
