Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Viewing and Services on Fri Mar 20 and Sat Mar 21 have been cancelled. Future plans on memorials will be made by the family after the virus has abated.

Ellen Louise (Cowles) Allen, born Sept. 13, 1943 (age 76) in Wichita, KS, died suddenly from natural causes on March 13, 2020, in her Richfield, MN home. A strong role model to the family she loved, Ellen lived a life of service. A teacher and friend of immigrants, incarcerated people, and children, Ellen spoke her truth and sought justice. She was deeply connected with her American Baptist Church family, serving in leadership, singing in choir, and supporting her community with tireless service. She loved to read and was a lifelong learner. She is preceded in death by her son Neil (2010) and her parents Alan and Eileen Cowles. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Eugene; siblings Elizabeth, Kraig, Clayton, and Sarah; son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Dara; and grandchildren Randy, Natasha, Shawn, Sheila and Zach. Viewing and Services are cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Interment in Bethel Cemetery, Dickinson Co, KS at future date.
