Betty (Elizabeth) Jane Friborg, Age 97, passed away Friday, May 1, 2020. On Thursday, April 23, Betty, for the first time, viewed a photo of her then, 3 day old, and first great grandchild. Several hours later that same evening, Betty was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with both pneumonia and Covid -19. She passed away at Bethesda Hospital in the extraordinary care of extraordinary nurses.
Betty was preceded in death by father Dr. Karl Bjoraker, mother Effie, step father Arnold Westberg, brothers Jack Bjoraker and Dr. Robert J. Bjoraker, nephew Robert Bjoraker, Jr. and adoring and loving husband Don. She is survived by daughters Susan Friborg and Mary Jordan (John), grandchildren Desiree, Kaila (Jens), Jacob, great granddaughter Annika, nephew Danny and niece Barb.
Betty was a kindergarten teacher for many years, loved her church, music and travel. She lived an extraordinarily fortunate life surrounded by the love of God, family and many wonderful friends. Betty requested that memorials go to the Ronald McDonald House or a favorite of your own choosing. We are grateful for Betty’s life and will be happy in celebrating it in the days and years ahead. A service may convene at a later date.
