Obituary for Dolores Arlene Pospesel (Whitcomb)
Pospesel, Dolores A.
Age 85, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2019. Preceded in death by parents, Agnes and Rolland Whitcomb, her brother, Dean Whitcomb and daughter-in-law, Jeanette Pospesel. Dolores led a life filled with optimism and energy that she shared graciously with everyone that knew her. Grandma D, will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Dawn (Cox) Pospesel and son, Dean (Jeanette) Pospesel and six grandchildren, Eric, Emily and Connor Cox and Cole (Allison), Ava and Blaire Pospesel. Dolores thrived in all phases of her life, from graduating as Valedictorian at Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD, to holding the crown as Miss Sioux Falls before graduating from Carleton College, Northfield, MN in 1955. She loved dance and taught both tap and ballet, along with ballroom, for many years in Minneapolis, alongside a work career that included teaching and various posts with the Minnesota Department of Education in program planning and development of vocational education before retiring. A smile was always visible whenever she described the honor of being a member of the Lake Harriet Yacht Club. Dolores added another gear to her life stride as a Grandma, and reveled in watching each of her grandkids grow and share her passion to explore life through travel and education. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 10 AM on June, 27th 2019 at the Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. So. Minneapolis, MN 55408 with a reception to follow.
