Obituary for Deloris Ann Renne
Deloris (Dostal) Renne age 86 of Savage died after a brief illness on September 25, 2020. Waiting at the gates of heaven with a deck of cards and dice were her husband Mel, and her brothers, LeRoy, Vernon, Jerry, Roland and Lloyd, along with many other family and friends. Missing her terribly here on earth are her children, Terri Swanson (Doug), Randy Gave (Deb), Lyle Gave (Teri); grandchildren, Ben Swanson, Jessica Johnson (Doug), Jake Gave (Cassandra), Tyler Gave, Vanessa Gave; great grandchildren, Makai, Oliver, Zya, Elliot, Zaire, Wesley, baby Gave due in December; siblings, Ed Dostal (Janet), Bill Dostal (Jeanette), Betty Knippel, Judy Jensen (Sherman); sisters in law, Charleen Dostal (Vernon), Nancy Dostal (Roland), Doreen Dostal (Lloyd).
Dee enjoyed playing a variety of card games including pinochle, euchre and crazy 8s with her grandson; dice games including Yahtzee and 6-5-4; trips to the casino – especially the yearly jaunts with her Sissy; playing BINGO with at least 10 cards!; watching sports on TV – her favs were golf and basketball; wordsearch puzzles and computer games; and decorating her apartment for every season/holiday. Above all she loved her family fiercely. She delighted in her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She gave huge, tight tugs that were genuine.
At Dee’s request, she will be cremated and her remains will lie in a beautiful purple urn. A celebration of life will be held Saturday 2:00 p.m. September 25, 2021 at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Avenue South. Visitation one hour prior to service. Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Donations are preferred to the CJD Foundation or Alzheimer’s Association.
