Christopher James Huber passed away unexpectedly at his home in Minneapolis on January 18, 2023, at the age of 58.
Chris was born on September 8, 1964 in Richmond, CA. At a young age, his family moved to Minnesota and he graduated from Apple Valley High School. Following high school, Chris attended St. John’s University. He received his BA in Business Administration in 1987. Later that year he married Beth Hill (nee Riedmann). His first job out of college was in sales at Vincent Metals. In 1990, he began his 22-year career at Target Corporation. In 1992, Chris and Beth welcomed a daughter, Natalie. While working at Target, Chris completed his MBA in Marketing from the University of St. Thomas in 1993. In 2001, he married Lori Huber (nee Rowan) and together they had 4 children - Ethan, Jack, Sylvia, and Benjamin. He continued to be promoted at Target, ending his career there in 2012. Chris then became self-employed and enjoyed consulting.
He spent a lot of time grilling, fishing, adventuring in the Boundary Waters with his children, and relaxing up north on Lake Vermillion. He loved his family and enjoyed the simple things in life.
Chris is preceded in death by his father, Eugene, his mother, Helen (nee Bunkers), and stepmother Rosalia Ekegren.
He is survived by his 5 children, Natalie (Ryan) Popple, Ethan, Jack, Sylvia, and Ben Huber, and his grandchildren, Cohen Popple and Baby Popple #2. He is also survived by 5 siblings - Allison Huber, Blaine Huber, Shannon (Sandy) Huber, Wendy (Randy) Prekker, and Wade Huber. Chris was an uncle to 16 nieces and nephews.
Chris was a loving, devoted father and husband. He was an active member of Annunciation Church, serving several years on the Parish Council and ushering. He volunteered countless hours at Annunciation school, including coaching basketball and as a Cub Scout leader. Chris had the biggest heart and goofiest sense of humor. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, loyalty, and as the best hug giver. He will be missed by everyone who got the opportunity to know and be loved by him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday January 23, 2023 11 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, 509 West 54th Street. Visitation one hour prior. Service will also be live-streamed on the Church of the Annunciation Facebook Page. Interment at Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation Sunday January 22, 2023 6-9 p.m. at Gill Brothers Funeral Home 5801 Lyndale Ave S.
