Obituary for Carolyn Marie Skala
Age 55 died on Wednesday May 22 2019. Loved and loving daughter, sister, aunt, niece,cousin and friend. Her consistent love, positive attitude and caring greeting cards will be missed by those who knew her. Carolyn’s courageous acceptance of 7 years of Multiple Myeloma cancer will be remembered.
Born on Feb. 21 1964 in Mpls., she attended Annunciation School and graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels. Carolyn worked at Fairview Southdale Hospital in the nutrition center for 17 years until her illness required her to retire.
She is survived by mother, Carol Skala, father, Jack (Nancy) Skala, sister, Bridget (Brad) Mirkovich, brother, Jacob (Erin) Skala, nephews: Willem Mirkovich, Aidan Mirkovich, Anders Skala, niece Callahan Skala and many other Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Carolyn was preceded in death by Grandparents, Jacob and Dorothy Skala and Edwin and Helen Erickson.
Special Thanks to Dr. Eric Weinshel, his nurse Sarah Kruell and the staff at Minnesota Oncology in Edina for their special care.
Visitation Monday June 3rd at 10:00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Annunciation Catholic Church, 509 West 54th St. Mpls. Lunch will follow mass. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Annunciation Church, Our Lady of Peace Hospice or the Multiple Myeloma Society.
