Obituary for Bruce Harold Rivers

Age 78 of Richfield passed away surrounded by family on February 1, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. Bruce was born January 9, 1942 in Minneapolis. After graduating from DeLaSalle High School, he entered the Naval Reserves and attended the University of Minnesota, where he met and married his wife of 42 years, Ellen Ann Hood.

Bruce devoted his life to serving others. He was proud of his 25 years of service on the Minneapolis Fire Department. He also served the sick and ailing as co-owner of a private ambulance service and never hesitated in taking care of his friends and family or anyone he saw in need.

He enjoyed motorcycle rides, cooking, time at his condo in Madeira Beach, Florida, and spending time with his friends & family. A practical joker and overall good neighbor, perhaps his most enduring legacy will be carried on through his children and grandchildren with the example of service and sense of humor he has passed on to all.
