Obituary for Brian John Turchin
Brian John Turchin, age 56 of Wheaton, MN, passed away on October 3rd, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND after a long battle with lung disease.
A Visitation and Funeral will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, November 1st at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave So. Bloomington, MN.
Brian was born to Judith A. (Sumpter) Turchin and Thomas P. Turchin in Casselton, ND on March 15th, 1963. Brian grew up in East St. Paul where he made lifelong friendships. After high school Brian enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed in Beirut, Lebanon. In 1982 Brian married Debi (Bourke) Kelly. They resided in St. Paul and Cambridge, MN. In 1985 they welcomed their first daughter Ashleigh (Turchin) Bursch and in 1988 they welcomed their youngest daughter, Heather Turchin.
Along with raising his beautiful daughters, Brian enjoyed fishing, card games, camping, and everything involving music and a cold beer.
During Brian’s time in the Navy he became a cook. He continued that line of work into a career outside of the military. He worked in various restaurants throughout St. Paul. Brian recently moved to Wheaton, MN to fulfill his dreams of fishing and relaxing in the peaceful country.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Thomas P. Turchin. Survived by his mother, Judith A. (Sumpter) Turchin; daughters, Ashleigh Lillian (Turchin) Bursch, and Heather Ann Turchin; sisters, Leslie Dick, Nicole (Chris) Tredwell; brothers, Todd Turchin, Frank (Karla) Turchin, Sheldon (Liz) Turchin; grandchildren, Destinee, Jayden, Taylin, Mariah, Charlie, Avion and Kennedy; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
