Obituary for Anne Phoebe Kane (Yaeger)

Kane, Anne "Phoebe" passed peacefully with family at her side on July 22nd 2022. Born Phoebe-Ann Yaeger on July 13, 1944 in Minneapolis; At the age of 5, she moved with her parents, older brother John, and younger sister Rose to Wabasha, MN, where she was followed by 6 more siblings. As the second oldest of 9 children, she became a caretaker for the entire family, priding herself on organizing holiday gatherings and ensuring everyone was well fed. She attended St. Felix high school and graduated from the College of St. Teresa. She started her career as an elementary teacher at St. Joan of Arc. She married Joe Selvaggio in 1968. Together they adopted 2 boys, Ricardo and Tony, and gave birth to a 3rd son, Sam. In 1981, Anne and Joe divorced, and in 1990, she married her true love Fred Manzara. Anne was proudly Irish, loved Italy and was an enthusiastic catholic. She enjoyed her time with her friends going to church, book club, movies, walks, and shopping. She had a quick wit about her, and her love for family and friends was shown in everything she did. Anne is preceded in death by her husband Fred Manzara, parents Jack and Agnes Yaeger, siblings Rose, Jay, Joel and Jerry, son Tony, and poodle Allie. Survived by sons Sam and Ricardo; siblings John, Jeff and Elizabeth Yaeger, Lina Walsh; step-kids Thianda, Alex, Aldo, Anne and Lynn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
