Obituary for Andrejs "Andy" Austrums
Andrejs “Andy” Austrums, 80, of Minneapolis, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019, at N.C. Little Hospice in Edina, MN
Visitation will be Thursday, 12/5 from 5-7 pm and Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, 12/6 at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55419. Burial will follow at Lakewood Cemetery.
Andy was born in Rencini, Latvia to John and Klara (Pastors) Austrums on September 21, 1939. He attended Washington High School and Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. He married Karen Kruse on August 16, 1963 in Inwood, IA. Andy taught Math at Anthony Middle School, Minneapolis Public Schools for 35 years. He earned his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Minnesota.
Andy is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ilze, wife, Karen, and son, Christopher.
Andy is survived by son, Tim, and daughter-in-law, Erica; daughter, Julie, and son-in-law, Nate; grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, and Ellie Austrums, Liam, Delia, and Audrey Saul; sister Dace Roberts.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association of MN.
