Obituary for Gloria Dawn Javner (Zahrbock)

Javner, Gloria Dawn (Zahrbock), 89, of Golden Valley, MN went to be with her Lord on February 12th 2019. Gloria was kind, joyful, and elegant. She survived breast cancer, a brain aneurysm AND being a Viking fan for almost six decades. Gloria was an impeccable hostess, skilled dental hygienist, master seamstress, accomplished line-dancer, gardener extraordinaire and appreciative friend (thanks to Lee and Marty Aretz for the cherished weekly outings). Gloria blossomed during her last two years living at Meadow Ridge Senior Living where she cultivated nurturing friendships including best friend Mabel, facilitated Jeopardy and Bingo games and beat her Cribbage Club teammates WITHOUT cheating. This beautiful, beloved matriarch loved her family above all else, even more than jigsaw puzzles, riding motorcycles, and watching Lucky Dog and Blue Bloods. Mom/Grandma: Words cannot capture the deep love and gratitude we forever hold for you in our hearts.

Preceded in death by parents, Esther Victoria and Albert Alvin Zahrbock; husband, John Beverly, son, Kenneth John. Survived by daughters Kathleen Hoff (Craig), Vicki Javner Krichmar (Rick) and daughter-in-law Kiyomi Javner; grandchildren Chelsea (Brandon), Michael, Charlie, David, Brooks; step-grandchildren Kristin, Anders, Jorgen, Gretchen; great-grandsons Barkley and Trygve and beloved puggle, Isabel. Special thanks to the compassionate and caring staff of Meadow Ridge and North Memorial Hospice (we love you, Cathy and Wilder). Services Monday, February 18th at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior at Brookdale Covenant Church in Brooklyn Center. Memorials to the Animal Humane Society preferred, 845 Meadow Ln. N, Golden Valley, MN 55422.
