Obituary for Mark Vernon Ericksen

Mark Vernon Ericksen, passed away on January 13, 2019 after a short battle with cancer. Born on December 16, 1951 to Richard Ericksen and Lorraine Shaffer Ericksen Petersen. Mark grew up in Bloomington and was the oldest of 8 siblings, thus being nicknamed, “The President.” Preceding Mark into heaven: his parents, Richie and Lorraine, along with his brother, Todd Ericksen. Survived by his son, Dan Storlie (Terri Petter), grandson, Kody Storlie, step-father, Don Petersen, siblings, Marty Ericksen (Marina), Debbie Matson (Steve), Connie Ericksen, Jerry Ericksen, John Ericksen (Lisa) and many nieces and nephews. Mark didn’t just watch life go by, he participated in it. He rode horses and Harley’s, raced cars, paddled canoes and drove an 18-wheeler. Mark loved his country and his dogs and was faithful to family. He was an army veteran and patriot, serving in Bamburg, Germany. Mark was a proud father and grandfather, a good son, brother, friend, and uncle; we will miss him greatly and forever long to hear his laugh again. Please join us at Fort Snelling National Cemetery for a burial service on Thursday, January 17th.
