Obituary for Sandra Kay Morgan (Solberg)

Sandy (Sandra) Kay Morgan, nee Solberg, 76, of Minneapolis. A spirited and committed English teacher for the Bloomington Public Schools for 40 years, where she proctored exams another 15 years. Active member of First Christian Church, Minneapolis for 50 years, serving in almost every way, including as an elder and head of the church kitchen for many decades. Graduate of Winona State and St. Thomas with Masters degrees in both English and gifted education. Sandy focused on bringing out the best in students, understanding that students might have gifts in one area and challenges in others. From a dairy farm in Minnesota, her life took her across the United States and into the world beyond: always learning, always grateful for new experiences with family and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Walter and Lillie Solberg of Peterson, MN, and in-laws, Dane and Lib Morgan of FL/NC. Survived by husband and fellow traveler of 53 years, Mike; her two strong and equally spirited daughters, Ellie Garbina (Jeremy) and Susan Morgan; sisters Karen Solberg and Lois Czaplewski (Ted); and very loving extended Morgan, Solberg and Czaplewski families who share lifetimes of happy memories and great appreciation for delicious Aunt Sandy cooking. A memorial service and gathering will be held Jan 26th at 2pm at First Christian Church Minneapolis at Springhouse Ministries. A private interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
