Born February 6, 1928 to Edwin Roe and Lula Marvick Roe in Stanley WI.
Died September 11, 2017
Graduated from Stanley HS in 1945 and then enlisted in the Navy for 2 years. He went to St. Olaf College and graduated in 1951. Attended Luther Seminary and was ordained in 1955. He served as chaplin in the Air Force for 2 ½ years. Paul served Lutheran congregations in Minocqua, Onalaska, Menomonie, WI and St. Paul, MN. After retiring from the ministry, he worked for the ELCA Board of Pensions.
He married his college sweetheart Donna Vibber on June 14, 1952 and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Preceded in death by his parents: daughter, Gayle Tolzmann; brothers, Edward ,Glenn and Marvick; and sisters, Dorothy and Elsa.
Survived by wife, Donna; sister, Helen Warren; children, Linda Roe (Gwen Walker), Gwenn Branstad (Steve), Nancy Zoril (Mike), Peter (Christie), Deane and Carol Steiger (Gregg); son-in-law, Paul Tolzmann (Janet); 17 grandchildren, Andy, Diane (Nate), Erik (Kelly), Peter (Shanthi), Sam, Toby, Lauren (Philip), Molly, Matthew (Erin), Spencer (Kim), Tanner, Sarah, Ethan, Soren, Abby, Gus and Ben; 2 great-grandchildren, Josephine and George.
Visitation at Bethlehem Lutheran 4100 Lyndale Ave. S. Minneapolis on Friday September 15 from 6-8:30. Funeral Service at Bethlehem on Saturday, September 16 at 11:00. Visitation at 10:00.
