Paul Eugene Buerg, age 71, of Burnsville, Minnesota passed away on February 11th, 2011.  Paul was born to Margaret Alice (Langford) Buerg and Stanley Eugene Buerg in San Francisco, California on August 7th, 1939. Paul proudly served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1960 at the US Naval Air Station in Alameda, California near his family’s home.  After his military service, Paul enjoyed a career with International Harvester that eventually brought him and his wife of 21 years, Janet Doris (Delaney) Buerg and son, Jonathan Paul Buerg to Minnesota in 1978.  The young family settled in Bloomington, and Paul’s daughter, Stephanie Michelle Buerg, was born a short time later in that same year. Eventually, Paul moved on from International Harvester to work for Honeywell, and later for Sears, Roebuck before retiring.  Paul was particularly proud of his ability to utilize his warm, disarming personality and wonderful sense of humor to great success in his work with these companies.  Paul always looked back fondly on his working years, but also enjoyed the relaxation and freedom of retirement.  Many of Paul’s retirement years were spent living with his daughter, Stephanie, in Burnsville.  Paul had a lifelong love of music and a good ear for the best sounds in jazz, folk, and classic rock and roll music.  Paul also enjoyed football as a fan of his hometown San Francisco 49ers; and he loved baseball as well, supporting the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Reading was another important pastime for Paul, as he always read multiple books simultaneously; he enjoyed both novels and nonfiction works on subjects such as American history, music, and sports. Paul was preceded in death by his father, mother, his sister, Karen Lidyard, and his niece Patty.  Paul is remembered by his son Jonathan and wife Janell Decker, his daughter Stephanie and close friend Andrew, his ex-wife and friend, Janet, and his nieces Katie, Tracie, and their families.
