Kevin died on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, age 59, surrounded by his family and friends.  Kevin was born on May 21, 1952 and grew up in Bloomington, where he forged life-long friendships with his fellow mischievous rogues.  He lived life to the fullest and was never far from getting into trouble, but did it with good-hearted flair, making delightful memories for himself, his friends and his family.  Kevin learned the cobblers trade when he was 14 and went on to own his own shoe repair businesses in Burnsville, Apple Valley and Eagan over the past 40 years.  Left to cherish his memory and tell the tales are his wife, Dynelle of Bloomington; mother, Marilynn of Burnsville; father, Robert of St. Paul; sister, Sherry and brother, Mark of Burnsville; niece, Lindsay of Mpls.; as well as other relatives and many friends.  Memorial gathering, Saturday, January 28th from 1:00-3:00PM at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 9947 Lyndale Ave. S.

Gherity, John A. “Jack”

of Burnsville, MN passed away peacefully January 20, 2012 at the age of 79.  Jack is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward.  Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joan; daughter, Kathleen (Kurt) Madryga; sons, David, Paul (Diane), John (Ann), Mark (Sue), Patrick (Lucy); 16 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews and brother, Tom.  Jack was a Korean War veteran, a CPA and a member of the Knight of Columbus.  He loved family dinners, movies, fishing, hockey and a good laugh. Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.  Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday 11 AM at the Church of Mary, Mother of the Church, 3333 Cliff Road Burnsville.  Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  Visitation Monday 5-7 PM at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Ave. So. Deidre Baker Hedrick, 78 formerly of Edina. Deedee, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend, died peacefully and comfortably with family on the morning of January 20, 2012. Preceded in death by beloved sons Paul Hedrick and William Hedrick, Jr.

Deedee shared a rich life of loving kindness in acts small and large. She was married to William L. Hedrick M.D. for over 54 years and together they brought seven eager children into this world. She taught elementary school before transferring to teacher at home and gave her enormous energy to raising her children and any from the neighborhood who strayed into the Hedrick household. She was active in the Our Lady of Grace Parish. Deedee was active socially in bridge groups, prayer groups, retreats, golf league and walks around local lakes. She and Bill were lifelong supporters of the arts.

Grandma Deedee was the favorite of her grandchildren and made all encounters wonderful with her gentle Irish blue eyes and warm smile. She was a super fan at any of her children and grandchildren's events.

Deedee grew up in Rochester, MN, the daughter of Earl and Mary Baker. Her siblings were always close to her life and her heart and include Mary Culhane, Marcia Schug, John Baker (Misty), Kathleen Baker, and Maggie Grill (Dennis). Deedee met Bill in Rochester during his internship at the Mayo Clinic. They enjoyed a love for life with adventures in travel alone and with family and friends. Bill is grateful for the enormous love and energy that Deedee shared with him. She was blessed with so many great friends who all had a special place in her heart.

Her children and grandchildren include son John and Leslie Hedrick (Jessica, Joe and Jack); son Robert and Ana Flavia Hedrick (Angelina); son David and Heather Kelly-Hedrick (Margot, Ian and Sophie); daughter Anne and Jeff Sarles (Rob, Paul and Mark); and daughter Patricia and Todd Magor (Cory, Madison and Will).  Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, January 25th at 11:30am at Our Lady of Grace Church, 5051 Eden Ave., Edina. Visitation at Our Lady Of Grace Church on Tuesday, January 24, 4-7pm and one hour prior to mass. Memorials to: William L. Age 84 of St. Louis Park, MN.  Preceded in death by husband, Eldon; and sister, Dorothy Robbins.  Born November 12, 1927 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Henry and Ethel (Hall) Riewer.  Survived by children, Karen Bjornstad and Richard (Roxanne) Bjornstad; grandsons, Kristopher and Randy; sister Marie (Willmer) Zitzow.  Mass of Christian Burial , Tuesday, January 24, at 10 AM at the Church of the Visitation ~ 4530 Lyndale Avenue South, Mpls. Anderson, Maxine A.  


 Died peacefully in her sleep on January 13, 2012 at the age of 98.  Born July 31, 1913, she was a graduate of West High School and Eitel Hospital School of Nursing,  both of Minneapolis.  She was employed as a surgical nurse until her marriage in 1948 to Carl G. Anderson.  Together they moved to Crookston where they remained until after Carl's death in 1980.  She is survived by daughters, Marilyn Anderson of Seattle and Corrine (Dan) Engstrand of Bloomington; grandchildren, Peter and Rebekah Engstrand; brothers, Arthur Harris and Wayne (Lois) Harris.  Funeral service will be held Friday, January 27th ~ 11 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 4100 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis with visitation one hour prior to service.  Memorials preferred to Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry ~122 West Franklin Avenue, Suite 319  Minneapolis, MN  55404 or Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston, MN.  Interment will take place on Saturday, January 28th, 11 AM at Oakdale Cemetery ~ Crookston, MN.

Amy B. Courchane, age 95, of Bloomington MN. Amy was born September 5, 1916 in Marble, MN to Earnest and Reva Young and died peacefully on January 9, 2012, while a resident at Mount Olivet Careview Home in Minneapolis. Preceded in death by parents; sister and brother-in-law, Florence and John Sahlman. Survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Donald J. Courchane; Children, Mary (Bob) Schlueter of Colorado Springs, CO; George (fiance, Barb Hubbard) Courchane, St. Paul MN; Paul (Faith) Courchane of Brooklyn Park MN; Grandchildren, Andrew and Chris Courchane, David Schlueter and Stephen Courchane; Great-Grandchildren, Nathan and William Courchane; sister, Marilyn
(DeWayne) Wohlleb of Sacramento CA; many nieces and nephews. Amy was proud of
her Iron Range roots and her years as a high school social studies teacher. She was devoted to her family and her faith. She was an avid reader and passionate about politics. Bittner, Albert James “Jim” age 76 died peacefully at home January 9, 2012. Beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend.  Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Helen; siblings, John, Fred, Mary Ann; twin sons, Christian and Christopher; grandchildren, Samuel and Grace.  Survived by wife of 54 years, Evelyn; children, Mary (Gary) McAlpin, Ann (Gregory) Schiffer, Norbert (Barbara), Nadine (Jim) Reinhardt, Joan (Rick) Hiel, Danette (Bill) King, Jim (Christine), A.J. (Annette) Samuel (Amber); 41 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Betty Mitchell, Barb (Ron) Hoppe, Bernard (Lisa).  He was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Bloomington and People of Praise Community. He retired from the MTC in February 2000.  His favorite saying is “Joy is the net of love in which we catch souls.” Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Bonaventure, 901 East 90th St. Entombment St. Mary’s Cemetery Mausoleum.  Visitation Thursday 5-8 PM at St. Bonaventure Church and one hour prior to mass at church.  Prayer service Thursday 7 PM.
