Preceded in death by parents, John and Caroline Gabrenya; brothers, Edward and Louis Gabrenya; and husband, Charles De Wolf. Survived by son, Donald (Nancy) Hoernig of Philadelphia; daughter, Patricia (Tim) of Minneapolis; 5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter; 10 great-grand children;  brother, William of Melbourne, FL;  nieces, nephews, and step-children. Kathleen Ann Rivett, age 89 of Bloomington on March 1, 2013. Preceded in death by husband, Richard C. Rivett; parents, John and Ann Potosnak; brother, Donald Potosnak. Survived by son, Richard (Teri) Rivett; granddaughters, Adrienne Rivett and Chelsea Rivett; great-grandson, Mika’El John Amos and brother, Robert (Myrlee) Potosnak. Kathleen retired from the Richfield Public Schools and was an active member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Community, where she was an active member of the adult choir and funeral choir. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM, Wednesday, March 6th at the Church of St. Bonaventure, 901 East 90th Street, Bloomington. 83, of Richfield, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Fairview Southdale hospital, near her home.  Amy was born January 23, 1930 in Waterville, Minnesota.  Amy loved the outdoors and was a lifelong naturalist and supporter of conservation groups.  She was born on Lake Tetonka in Waterville and spent considerable time with her family at her lake home in the Chippewa National Forest in Northern Minnesota.  She was devoted to her granddaughter and nieces and nephew, was a regular volunteer at Richfield United Methodist Church, and enjoyed the philosophical inquiries led there by Pastor Elizabeth.  Amy was an energetic person of considerable intelligence, delightful personality, and an accomplished pianist.  She was preceded in death, by her parents, Lucinda and Frank Luker (Waterville, MN); her husband, Walter L. Carlson; her son, Bruce John; her sister, Mary Lou (Herman) Solyntjes (Waterville); and her baby brother Franklin Luker.  Amy is survived by, and will be deeply missed by granddaughter, Kara Carlson, great-grandson, Trenton; nieces, Terrie King (James King), Diane Berndt (Brad Atherton), Eileen Atherton, and Ruth Solyntjes; nephew, Ron Solyntjes; and her brother-in-law, Herman Solyntjes.  She will be missed by many grand nieces and nephews, who adored her, and other family and friends.  Visitation will be held Saturday March 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Richfield United Methodist Church, followed there by funeral services at 11:00, as well as brief story sharing.  Interment will occur at Fort Snelling, where she will be laid to rest next to Walter on Monday, March 4.

Fossum, Margaret E. (Crew) Died peacefully Feb. 24, 2013, at the age of 98, in Minneapolis. Preceded in death by husband, Howard (2004); daughter, Gail (1985); and son-in-law, Jerry Stellner (2011). Survived by granddaughter, Nicole Stellner (Peter Eberhardy); grandson, Richard Stellner; numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. A lifelong Minnesotan, Margaret was born in 1914, to immigrant parents from Wales and Norway, and graduated from South High in 1933. Those who knew and loved Margaret remember her sincere generosity as well as her comical and gregarious spirit. She loved being with family and friends, entertaining, and making others happy. In the 1950s, Howard and Margaret built a cabin on Lake Wabana in northern Minnesota. They named the cabin "Valhalla" where Margaret enjoyed walks in the woods, gardening, and birding, including singing with the loons. In her final years, Margaret fondly recalled her days at South High and Lake Wabana as if it were yesterday. Her family thanks the kind staff at the Augustana Care Center for the special care and comfort they provided. Memorial service Saturday, April 6, 2013, 10 AM at the Lakewood Cemetery Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave S, Mpls, MN. Interment Lakewood Cemetery. Visitation at 9:30 AM. Memorial gifts to the Friends of South High Foundation Fine Arts Fund.

Age 84 of Bloomington. Joanne is a retired longtime employee of  Honeywell and a member of “Friends of the Oxboro Library”.  Preceded in death by husband, Dennis Patrick Duggan. Survived by sons, Charles and Kevin Duggan; grandsons, William (Brittany) Duggan, Andrew Duggan and their mother, Cindi Green; sisters, Dorothy Helmin and Mary Jane Sorenson; many nieces and nephews.  Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10 AM at the Church of the Nativity of Mary, 9900 Lyndale Ave. So. Town, Marian J.
Age 87 of Minneapolis, MN, died peacefully February 22, 2013 after a courageous journey with Alzheimer's disease. She was born May 27, 1925 to Allen and Bertha Town in St. Cloud, MN. Survived by her sisters, Louise A. Town, MD and Joan R. Town; nieces and nephews and friends. Her education at includes a Master's of Nursing Education at the U of M and she held various teaching and administrative positions in MN and CA. Marian was a person of great energy who extended a helping hand to everyone. She was an avid fan of spectator sports, especially baseball and football. She took great pleasure in her hidden artistic talents. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013 at Gill Brothers Southwest Chapel ~ 5801 Lyndale Avenue South with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.

Lufern Alvina Smith, Age 100 of Annandale, formerly of New Hope passed away February 20, 2013.  Preceded in death by husband, Alvin and 9 siblings.  Survived by daughter, Elaine (Theodore) Fillmore; son, Ronald (Joan) Smith; 6 grandchildren, Dean Ferrell, Evon Hill, Kevin Ferrell, Wanda Maresh, Alan Smith and Amy Frazzini; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and brother, George Mogen.  Funeral Service 11AM, Friday, March 1st at House of Hope Lutheran Church, 4800 Boone Ave. N, New Hope.  Visitation 4-7PM, Thursday, February 28th at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 7300 42nd Ave. N, New Hope and one hour prior to service at church.  Interment Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.

Frances Elizabeth Dirckx Galle, age 75, born October 11th, 1937 in Tracy, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 20th, 2013.
Preceded in death by father, Louis; mother, Elizabeth; brother, Bruce Dirckx, and four infant sisters. Survived by loving husband, William "Bill" Galle; daughter, Roshawn Sook (Gil); sons, Christopher (Louise), Michael (Elizabeth), Nicholas (Elizabeth), and Matthew (Kristina) Galle; grandchildren, Brianna, Lucas and Sasha Sook, Mazie, William, Acacia, Eleanor, Lauren, Benjamin and Jack Galle.; sister, Patricia Bergonzi (John); Fran grew up in Marshall, MN, Graduated from Central High School and received her RN degree from St. Gabriel's School of Nursing in Little Falls, in 1958. She was a long time nurse at The University of Minnesota.  Bill and Fran retired to Las Vegas, NV in 1998.  Fran loved to travel, eat and go for long walks; and will be missed and remembered by family and friends.
