Darliene Faye McDonald

It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our Mother, Darliene Faye McDonald. Mom was born in Jamestown North Dakota and Moved to Minneapolis after she married. She was a long time resident of Edina, where she raised her 5 children. Mother was a phenomenal cook...homemade pies from scratch and potato salad were her specialties. She was an incredible seamstress with an exceptional flair for designing clothes and quilts which won her recognition at the MN state fair. She so enjoyed her weekends at her son John's cabin on Deer Lake, trips with his family to Sarasota...Visits to San Diego with her daughter Colleen...trips with Tom to Jamestown...always up for an adventure! She embarked on a successful career in real estate once her kids were grown that lasted over 30 years with Edina Realty. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. McDonald and daughter in law Rebecca McDonald. She is survived by her sons and spouses, Donald Jr., Thomas and Vicki, John and Colette, Robert (Candi); daughter, Colleen and husband Burke; grandchildren, Mike, Scott, Tom, Daniel, Bryan, Molly, Bob Jr., Scott; great granddaughter, Lyla. Although we did not get the chance to say good-bye to you mom because the demon isolated you from us for the last 4 years, you will live in our hearts with joy forever with fond memories of your great sense of humor…your laugh and all those lovely hats! You are now at peace. The demon cannot hurt you anymore. God bless you and watch over you as you did to us all..Please join us for a celebration of Mom's wonderful life on Thursday July 26th from 4-7 at 5313 West Highwood Drive, Edina.
